Shopify fees
Shopify Grow plan: the old Shopify plan, priced and explained.
Grow is the plan Shopify used to call simply "Shopify". Here is what it costs in each country, the lower rates it gets you, one order worked through, and the sales where it beats Basic and where Advanced beats it.
Grow at a glance.
Grow sits one step above Basic: $105 a month on monthly billing in the US, or $79 a month billed yearly. For that it lowers the online card rate to 2.7% + 30¢, cuts the third-party transaction fee from 2% to 1%, and includes 5 staff accounts.
Shopify's pricing page and help center call it Grow; one help page still uses the old name, which is why both turn up in searches. Carrier-calculated shipping rates are an add-on on this plan rather than included.

* In the US this is the premium tier: business, corporate and commercial cards, plus every American Express card. Cards issued outside the US add 1% to the plan's rate.
India has no Shopify Payments, so every order there goes through another provider and pays Shopify's 1% third-party transaction fee on top of that provider's own fee.
France: Shopify's French pricing table lists no in-person card rate. Irish rates exclude VAT, which Shopify adds to its fees there.
One order, worked through.
Shopify Payments takes 2.7% + 30¢ on the $180.00 the customer pays, which comes to $5.16. No transaction fee is added, because the payment went through Shopify Payments. After $66.00 for the goods and $9.50 for postage, $99.34 is left: a 55.2% margin. Priced below $20.97 a unit, the same order would lose money.
The 30¢ part of the rate is charged once per payment, not per item, so bundling three items into one order costs less in fees than three separate orders.

When Grow pays for itself, and when Advanced does.
Grow costs $66 more a month than Basic on monthly billing, and takes 0.2 points less on each online card payment. With every order paid through Shopify Payments, Grow comes out cheaper once you sell about $33,000 a month. Billed yearly the price gap is $50 a month, and the point moves to about $25,000 a month.
If you take payments through another provider, the transaction fee matters more than the card rate: 2% on Basic against 1% on Grow. Then Grow pays for itself from about $6,600 a month, or $5,000 billed yearly.
The next step up works the same way. Advanced costs $294 more a month and takes 0.2 points less per card payment, so it only beats Grow from about $147,000 a month through Shopify Payments ($110,000 billed yearly), or $73,500 through another provider.
At the higher yearly prices some visitors were shown on October 23, 2026 ($89 for Grow), the yearly figure with Shopify Payments would be about $30,000 a month.
Grow questions.
Is Shopify Grow the same as the old Shopify plan?
Yes. Grow is the plan Shopify used to call "Shopify". The pricing page and help center now call it Grow, and one help page still uses the old name.
How much does the Grow plan cost?
$105 a month on monthly billing in the US, or $79 a month billed yearly. During a price test on October 23, 2026 some visitors were shown $89 for yearly billing, so check Shopify's page before paying for a year. It is £65 a month in the UK and CA$132 in Canada.
What card rates does Grow pay?
In the US, 2.7% + 30¢ online with a US card, 3.7% + 30¢ with a card from abroad, 3.3% + 30¢ for US business cards and every Amex, and 2.5% + 10¢ in person. With another payment provider, Shopify charges 1% on top of that provider's fee.
Is Grow worth it over Basic?
Only once your sales are high enough for the lower rates to cover the higher price: about $33,000 a month through Shopify Payments, or $6,600 through another provider. Below that, Basic costs less. Grow's 5 staff accounts can be the better reason to move.
How many staff accounts come with Grow?
5. The store owner, collaborators and POS-only staff do not count toward that limit. Advanced includes 15.
