* In the US this is the premium tier: business, corporate and commercial cards, plus every American Express card. Cards issued outside the US add 1% to the plan's rate.
India has no Shopify Payments, so every order there goes through another provider and pays Shopify's 0.2% third-party transaction fee on top of that provider's own fee.
France: Shopify's French pricing table lists no in-person card rate. Irish rates exclude VAT, which Shopify adds to its fees there.
One order, worked through.
Shopify Payments takes 2.25% + 30¢ on the $360.00 the customer pays, which comes to $8.40. No transaction fee is added, because the payment went through Shopify Payments. After $120.00 for the goods and $12.00 for postage, $219.60 is left: a 61.0% margin. Priced below $67.68 a unit, the same order would lose money.

- Plus is sold on terms. This uses the 1-year term, $2,500 a month; a 3-year term is $2,300 a month. Shopify says a variable platform fee may apply to larger stores.
When Plus costs less than Advanced.
On the 1-year term, Plus costs $2,101 a month more than Advanced on monthly billing and takes 0.25 points less per card payment. So on fees alone, Plus is the cheaper plan only once you sell about $840,400 a month through Shopify Payments, or $525,250 through another provider.
Most stores that move to Plus do it for what it adds rather than for the rate: more staff, more locations, expansion stores and checkout control. Any variable platform fee would push the point higher.
