How much does Shopify cost?

The plan prices and rates the calculator starts from, for a US store. Each plan's guide has every country.

Basic $39 $29 2.9% + 30¢ 2% None
Grow $105 $79* 2.7% + 30¢ 1% 5

Plus $2,500 (1-year term) $2,300 (3-year term) 2.25% + 30¢ 0.2% Unlimited

Plus is sold on a 1-year or 3-year term rather than monthly or yearly billing.

* Some visitors were shown $89 for Grow and $359 for Advanced on October 23, 2026, during a Shopify price test. The table shows the standard pricing page.

How it works.

  1. The plan price

Each plan's monthly price on the billing you choose. Plus uses its 1-year term price, the shortest commitment Shopify sells it on.

  2. Card fees on Shopify Payments orders

For the share of orders paid through Shopify Payments: the plan's online rate for a card issued in your country, times your average order, plus the fixed part once per order.

  3. Fees on the other orders

For the rest: Shopify's third-party transaction fee (2% to 0.2% by plan) plus your other provider's own rate. The provider's rate is the same on every plan, so it never changes which plan wins.

  4. Where the next plan pays

A higher plan costs more up front and less per order. Divide the difference in plan price by the saving per order and you get the monthly order count where the higher plan starts to cost less.

Data and assumptions.

Prices and rates verified
  • Plan prices and card rates are from Shopify's pricing page for each country, checked on October 23, 2026.
  • Card fees use each plan's online rate for cards issued in your store's country. Cards from abroad and premium cards cost more.
  • Fees are worked on the average order, so a month of real orders of different sizes can differ by a few cents.
  • Yearly billing uses the price on Shopify's standard pricing page; some visitors were shown higher yearly prices during a test on October 23, 2026.
  • Plus uses the 1-year term price ($2,500 a month in the US); a variable platform fee may apply and is not included.
  • Your other provider's rate starts from an example card rate. Replace it with your own.

Questions about choosing a plan.

Which Shopify plan should I choose?

On cost alone, the one with the lowest monthly total for your sales. For a US store with 200 orders a month of $50.00, all through Shopify Payments, that is Basic. Grow overtakes it only above about $33,000 a month in sales. A feature you need, such as staff accounts or carrier-calculated shipping, can make a higher plan the right pick sooner.

How much does Shopify cost a month?

The plan price plus the fees on what you sell. In the US the plans are $39, $105 and $399 a month on monthly billing, and Plus starts at $2,300 on a 3-year term. At 200 orders a month of $50.00, all through Shopify Payments, Basic costs the least: $389.00 in total.

Is yearly billing worth it?

If you are sure of the plan, yes: in the US it saves $120 a year (25.6%) on Basic, $312 a year (24.8%) on Grow and $1,200 a year (25.1%) on Advanced. Shopify was testing higher yearly prices on October 23, 2026, so check the figure it shows you.

Why does it matter how my customers pay?

Orders through Shopify Payments pay only the card rate. Orders through another provider pay that provider and Shopify's transaction fee as well, which is 2% on Basic but 1% on Grow. That is why a store using another provider reaches the point where Grow pays much sooner: about $6,600 a month instead of $33,000.

What does the calculator leave out?

App charges, themes, cards from abroad and premium cards (which cost more), currency conversion, and Plus's variable platform fee. The fee calculator handles cards from abroad, premium cards and currency conversion for a single order.

The fee calculator shows every fee, the profit and the break-even price for a single order.
