What each app is for

If you are weighing Platmart Color Swatches vs LinkedOption Combined Listings, start with the fact that both do the same core job. Each one takes separate products, such as one product per color, and shows them as a single combined listing with swatches. A shopper who lands on the red shirt can click a swatch and move to the blue shirt, even though they are two products in your admin.

The Platmart listing describes linking products with color, image or text swatches. The LinkedOption listing describes linking products as variants of one combined listing, with color or image swatches on product pages and product cards.

Most of the feature tags match: swatches, radio buttons, custom CSS, preview, translation, import and export, hide out-of-stock and auto-updates. The differences are small but can matter:

  • Only Platmart’s listing shows Checkboxes.
  • Only LinkedOption’s listing shows Dropdowns, Variant upcharges and Stock availability.

Both listings carry the Built for Shopify badge. Platmart shows 5 stars from 144 reviews and LinkedOption shows 5 stars from 147 reviews, so the ratings do not separate them.

Price and plans in practice

Both pricing lines say a free plan and a free trial are available, but the free plans work very differently.

Platmart’s free Developers plan is only for developer, Partner and Staff stores. A normal live store starts on Standard at $9.99 a month after a 14-day free trial. Advanced is $19.99 a month and Premium is $49.99 a month, each with the same 14-day trial.

LinkedOption’s Free plan works on a live store and covers 3 product groups. That is enough to test the app on a few products, such as one shirt in several colors. Past that, Basic is $9.99 a month or $99.90 a year, Advanced is $19.99 a month or $199.90 a year, and Premium is $39.99 a month or $399.90 a year. The yearly price saves 17%, and each paid plan has a 7-day free trial.

For a small store, here is what that looks like:

  • On Platmart, you pay $9.99 a month once the 14-day trial ends.
  • On LinkedOption, you pay nothing while you stay within 3 product groups, then $9.99 a month or $99.90 a year.

Neither listing shows an intro offer, and neither shows a price that changes with your Shopify plan. Both bill in USD every 30 days. Check each pricing card for what the higher tiers add before you upgrade.

Theme support, setup and help

Platmart is direct about themes. The listing says the app is “compatible with all types of themes and works with headless.” The developer’s FAQ says it supports all free and paid Shopify themes, including Online Store 2.0, vintage and Horizon themes.

LinkedOption’s listing and the developer pages we could read state nothing about theme support. That does not mean it fails on your theme. It means you should test it during the Free plan or the 7-day trial before you rely on it.

For help, the Platmart listing says support comes from Platmart, notes “Real human support” on the Developers plan, and links a FAQ. The LinkedOption listing says support comes from Lightcone and links a FAQ, a tutorial and app documentation.

Both “Works with” lists include Shopify Admin, Combined Listings and 2048 Variants. LinkedOption also lists Page Builder Apps and Translate & Adapt, and its listing is available in 7 languages compared with 1 for Platmart.
